How VisMed runs mips.
Reviewed by the VisMed programs & staffing team
We track quality all year because the score is decided by what is documented in March, not what is assembled in December. Practices that treat MIPS as a year-end project submit whatever data can be found and accept the result. Practices that track it as they go choose measures they can actually perform well on, fix documentation gaps while there is still time, and avoid the penalty.
We choose measures tuned to your specialty and your EHR’s reporting capability, monitor performance monthly, tell you where a measure is slipping and what closes the gap, and prepare the submission from data that was collected continuously. Promoting interoperability and improvement activities are handled the same way, on a calendar, not at the deadline.
The payment adjustment is real money either direction, and the difference between a penalty and a bonus is usually the year of attention, not the December scramble.

How does VisMed choose MIPS measures?
VisMed picks measures for your specialty that your EHR can report reliably and that your practice can perform well on, then confirms the choice against benchmarks so effort goes where it moves the score.
Does VisMed report through our EHR or a registry?
Whichever gives your practice the better submission. VisMed works inside your EHR’s quality module and, where a registry offers better measures or benchmarks for your specialty, manages that submission too.
What does VisMed report to us during the year?
VisMed sends a monthly measure-by-measure status showing where you stand against benchmarks, which measures are slipping, and what documentation change would close the gap, so nothing is a surprise at submission.
