ServicesThe revenue cycle

How VisMed runs charge entry.
Reviewed by the VisMed revenue cycle team
We think of charge capture as the leak with no symptom. A visit that was never charged generates no denial, no aging, no report line. It simply never existed as revenue. The only way to find it is to compare what was scheduled with what was billed, every day, and chase the difference.
So every appointment on the schedule must end as a claim, a no-show, or a documented reason. We close that list daily. Encounter forms and templates prompt for the separately billable procedures, injections, tests and supplies that get documented and forgotten, and a coder checks the note supports each line before it goes out.
On procedure-heavy accounts we reconcile the procedure log, lab worklist or infusion schedule the same way, because a case with the professional claim out and the facility or drug line missing is as much a capture failure as a visit with nothing billed.

What a practice asks about this service on the first call.
How does VisMed find unbilled visits?
VisMed reconciles the appointment schedule against claims every day. Every slot ends as a claim, a no-show or a documented reason, and the gaps are worked the same day rather than discovered months later.
Does VisMed capture in-office procedures and supplies?
VisMed builds encounter templates that prompt for injections, tests, procedures, drugs and supplies performed alongside the visit, and a coder confirms the documentation supports each line.
Does VisMed key charges or work from our EHR?
VisMed works from your EHR and practice-management system. Charges flow from the encounter into the claim inside your system; where paper superbills still exist, we enter them and reconcile against the schedule the same way.
